Automatic file protection of files synced through OneDrive sync client
What you need to know
- Automatic protection of files can be enabled in SharePoint Online and OneDrive sync client by enabling Seclore IRM in SharePoint Online Sites.
- Note that only Site Owners can enable or disable Seclore IRM in SharePoint Online sites.
- Once Seclore IRM is enabled, files uploaded to SharePoint Online or OneDrive sync client will be protected automatically.

Files that are already Seclore-protected can also be uploaded to a Seclore-IRM enabled folder. Such files would retain their original permissions and remain unaffected by SharePoint Online permissions. Already protected files can be opened from OneDrive sync client like any other protected file, either online or on desktop.
