What you need to know

  • If you wish to edit a Hot Folder, remove a Hot Folder, or pause protection in a Hot Folder, you need to log in to the Hot Folder Cabinet.
  • When you pause protection of a Hot Folder, only the files already protected by that Hot Folder before pausing protection will continue to be protected - regardless of where they are sent. However, new files placed in the Hot Folder will not get protected until protection in the Hot Folder is resumed.
  • Pausing protection on a Hot Folder is similar to deactivating it temporarily. The Hot Folder can be activated again at any time - and will continue to function as normal.
  • When you remove a Hot Folder: - The actual folder does not get deleted. - The Seclore protection applied on the folder is permanently removed. Unlike pausing, you cannot resume the monitoring and protection of the files within the Hot Folder. - The files associated with the folder will no longer be monitored for Seclore protection. - The existing protected files within the Hot Folder will continue to be protected. The file owner (or a user with the - Full Control permission on the file) may manually unprotect the files if needed.
